Blue

New bike

New Bike 

On a Christmas morning when a sweet sunshine was out, my brother was given a gear bike so I was given his bmx bike.“ Thank you so much mum“ I said in the process of clambering on “That's ok Liam” she replied. I started pedalling around the drive. The new bmx was was much faster than my old trike it was electrifying.

Feeling proud

Feeling Proud 
Before I dived in my heart was beating as fast as a cheetahs feet touch the ground.
This year at Jellie Park I was one of the Kahukura swimming relay team. The whole school was there watching us. The reason I  felt proud  was  I was representing Kahukura. I felt happy, and nervous.

Term 1 arts reflection

During term one we have been focusing on beat. Our main learning was about ‘pumanawatanga’ which is the strong vibe of our learning area. An example of this is when we are all writing it would be quiet but when we were at maths it would louder because we would be discussing ideas with our maths buddies. We were learning about the elements of music and we made a musical performance, about what we do on a Tuesday and what our class sounds like at that time. We have Discovery on Tuesday so we went through all the activities we do at discovery time. We put the activities in an order, then made a little catch phrase and notation to represent a rhythm that captured the essence of the activity. We keep on practicing the song that we put together every day until we got it perfect.
 
I am multistructural because I can identify beat in many contexts and I can keep the beat 
for other people by hitting a drum for the beat. My next step is to understand the purpose of beat

Mountain biking

Mountain biking
Sharp turns make me break frantically. 
I speed through the forest, as fast as my little legs can take me, so I can catch up with the person in front of me.
Biking on the bumpy ground jolts me around.
A strong wind skims past my face.
Steep hills await my approach.
Splashing through the stream chills my feet. I feel alive!
